Description:

A look at scapula articulation with a question of its efficiency. The ability to articulate the scapula gives more control over your body and its efficiency. It also makes it easier to control when to allow the scapula to articulate and when to align behind a strike or cut.

We see with the Bruce Lee video that humans have the ability to articulate their scapula to a high degree.

As you watch the leopard you can plainly see that when the leopard is walking and especially when it is hunting that it hides its motions by allowing the scapula to articulate and not give off any body language to the prey item. Then with great efficiency and at the last possible moment the leopard aligns the scapula to gain speed and momentum in order to attack its prey.

With the Kuroda Tetsuzan Sensei video you can see that same concept used by the leopard applied to kenjutsu. Watch as Tetsuzan Sensei moves without giving off any body signals until the last moment and then he aligns his scapula which allows him to strike or cut inside the space given to him by his caught off guard opponent.
